In the first Darksiders you played as War, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. In the story the Apocalypse had started early and War was summoned to the event only to find himself betrayed and blamed for everything. In Darksiders II the action starts just after War is cast out and the Charred Council summon his three other brothers to inform them of what has happened. When he learns of his brothers fate the horseman Death takes up arms to discover the real truth behind everything and prove Wars' innocence.
Darksiders was critically acclaimed for its action/adventure gameplay, world and characters and rightfully so. The sequel looks to expand on that in every way providing more moves and action, a larger world and several degrees of customisation allowing you to make your Death much more personal to you.
